Momentus is hiring to build a small Advanced Studies group that will plot the trajectory of the company and so the trajectory of in-space transportation for humanity. This group will develop the roadmap of Momentus’ future systems, missions, innovations, and technologies. This team will also write strategic proposals for one of a kind missions and system.

To staff our Advanced Studies group, Momentus has immediate openings for space mission designers with low thrust trajectory optimization experience; flight system architects, spacecraft system engineers, and spacecraft design engineers. Successful candidates will be hard working and high performing mission and spacecraft systems engineers who thrive in a close-knit diverse team to develop highly innovative solutions to hard problems. For this team we will consider candidates ranging from fresh college graduates to PhDs with decades of experience. For recent graduates demonstrated initiative to produce technical product and high GPA (>3.75 for BS) is a must. We are not looking for managers; we are looking for doers who can produce great products quickly and correctly.

Responsibilities

• Manage concept design development.
• All aspects of proposal preparation.
• Technical competitive analysis and alternative solution analysis.
• Collaborate with customers on solution development.
• Maintain user guide documentation and standard proposal.
• Perform multidisciplinary concept studies.

Profile

Key Desired Skills and Knowledge Range Across But Are Not Limited To:

• Spacecraft mission or spacecraft systems analysis and design
• Mission optimization and design
• Detailed knowledge of the physics and scaling laws of spacecraft subsystems
• Demonstrated proposal writing skills

• Proven ability to produce in high tempo work environments
• Strong references and a history of positive working
• A friendly disposition and a proven strong work ethic.
