On behalf of our client, the European Space Agency, we are looking for a skilled Financial Applications Support to join our team at the esteemed ESA-ESTEC site, in the Netherlands. Please note this is a 6-month contract to cover maternity leave.

The Science Directorate “Financial Applications Technical Support Service” is a centralised group of experts on the ESA and SCI application tools which provide specialized and technical support to the Science Programme, its Projects and the BUC office on the use and functionality of the various financial applications. Although each applications expert of the team may be assigned to support specific projects/missions and/or services, the group’s objective is to cover at all times, all support and implementation requests, at all levels, in the relevant financial tools for the directorate.

Responsibilities

  • Requests to implement, maintain and monitor procurement objects submitted by Project Controllers, BUC office, Contract Officers, Technical Officer, Industry.
  • Data required for creation etc of SAP objects (from Project Controllers & TOs mainly).
  • Implement, maintain and monitor all procurement objects and contract actions in SAP, such as Shopping Carts, RFx, New Contracts, Purchase Orders, Contract Change Notices, GRN/MACs, Fund reservation, etc.
  • Provide updates to the requesters on Status, progress and issues encountered.
  • Support ESA and Industry in carrying out required functions in SAP such as creation of a MAC, Invoice, Advance Payment Request, and approval or rejection of SAP objects.
  • Completed / submitted and approved (where appropriate) SAP objects requested, including Shopping Carts, RFx, New Contracts, Purchase Orders, Contract Change Notices, GRN/MACs, Fund reservation, etc.

Profile

  • University degree (Bachelor) from a recognised Institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification in Business Administration (or Communications as relevant), with relevant experience.
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven and extensive experience and knowledge to expert level, in all SAP Public Sector Financial Modules, including SRM, MM, CO, FM & FI modules.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in the Tools listed with specific ESA internal tools being a significant asset.
  • Experience in, and capabilities to, diagnose, analyse and solve complex issues within the relevant tools.
  • Knowledge of IPSAS rules, and familiarity with the ESA procurement process.
  • Experience in, and ability to support business process improvement activities from a technical IT perspective.
  • Knowledge and experience in SCI and ESA Corporate Financial Tools is an asset.
  • Proficiency in using general electronic office tools, in particular: Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, electronic mailing, and collaborative working tools (e.g. Sharepoint and Office365).
  • A high-level of communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail, flexibility, and ability
  • to identify priorities and work autonomously.
  • A service-oriented attitude, team spirit and ability to work co-operatively with other services and people in an international environment.
  • Experience with ESA in relevant activities is an asset.
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of another EU member state language is an asset.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
