On behalf of our client, the European Space Agency, we are looking for a skilled Communication Systems & Technologies Engineer to join our team at the esteemed ESA-ESTEC site, in the Netherlands. Responsibilities

  • Assistance in preparation of invitation to tenders related to ESA R&D.
  • Support the management of industrial R&D activities in the areas of: i)satellite modem physical and link layer analysis, design, prototyping and testing; ii) SATCOM Systems and network analysis and simulations.
  • Support internal hands-on technical analysis on subjects related to future SATCOM systems.
  • Support the preparation of the section R&D technology roadmaps in the area of satellite telecom network protocols, architectures and systems.
  • Technical coordination of the Telecom Lab activities.

Profile

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical, Computer or Telecommunications engineering.
  • +4 years of work experience in the field of complex digital communications systems and networks.
  • Solid background on telecom protocols at different layers.
  • Knowledge of SATCOM systems and networks, together with familiarity with computer simulations and programming languages is required.
  • Good technical background in telecommunication engineering and of the main satellite and terrestrial standards is considered an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory tools ad test facilities is considered an asset.
  • Comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are needed, together with a high degree organizational and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of another EU member state language is an asset.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU
