Responsibilities

  • Monitoring, in your capacity as Technical Officer, the qualification, acceptance and security certification of the recurrent Space Security Units for the twelve Galileo Batch 3 satellites,
  • Supporting the recurrent Satellite Acceptance Reviews, following up the classified payload and platform testing, ensuring that the classified functions are properly implemented within the satellite,
  • Coordinating the classified part of the System Compatibility Test Campaign (SCTC) and ensuring that the recurrent satellite is working with the Ground Infrastructure as expected,
  • Supporting the Launch Campaign and the critical security activities linked to the flight keys, interfacing with the relevant subordinate body of the Security Accreditation Board (national experts from EU Member States),
  • Preparing and supporting the Launch Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) in your capacity as Space Security Unit  expert, checking that the units are behaving as expected after launch,
  • Coordinating the classified part of the In-Orbit Test (IOT) Campaign to verify the satellite’s  readiness to provide the navigation service,
  • Interfacing with the FOC Satellite Management Service with respect to all satellite activities (Security Unit acceptance, Satellite Acceptance, Launch Campaign, LEOP),
  • Interfacing with the Galileo G1 System AIV & Deployment Service regarding all System    activities (SCTC, IOT).

Duties may also include supporting other activities within your field of competence and the transfer of knowledge across the Agency.

Profile

Technical competencies

Experience in the development and manufacturing of Space Security Units
Knowledge and experience in the fields of Navigation and related data processing and performances aspects
Knowledge and experience of Galileo security architecture
Knowledge and experience of security engineering and associated disciplines, in particular communications and network security

Education

A Master’s degree in Security engineering or related discipline is required for this post.
