A vacancy for a “Design Engineer” (d/f/m) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. The successful applicant will join “Airframe – Structural Design”.

Responsibilities

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

Development of innovative design solutions answering complex challenges in a multifunctional context. Ability to design structure components and assemblies that are optimized in terms of weight, cost, performance, production / assembly requirements while highest safety of the Product is assured using appropriate Design tools.

The main tasks of this position include:

• Development of structural concepts
• Pre-dimensioning
• Coordination of all design related tasks with internal and external interfaces (like stress department, production, aerodynamics, etc.) within the defined scope of work
• Detailed design of parts, assemblies and components
• Preparation of production drawings by means of CAD (CATIA V4/V5) with consideration of specifications, guidelines and state of the art
• Data management incl. aircraft effectivity using EDV tools (VPM und PDM) and preparation of Bill of Materials
• Development of repair solutions and built line support for aircraft component production and final assembly line
• Retro-fit design
• Development of in service repairs for in-service aircraft and support of repair at the customer including damage investigation.

Profile

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Degree in engineering (Aerospace engineering, Aircraft Design)
• Experience in Aircraft Structures Design
• Catia V4/V5, VPM/3Dcom; PDM; Microsoft Office
• Fluent German and English skills
