Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Worker I is responsible for preforming basic machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance services.  In addition, maintains production and facility equipment according to safety requirements and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievements of the sites business goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Assists more experienced maintenance workers to perform a variety of routine mechanical and electrical repairs to support all production and facility departments.
• Assists others to install new and used machinery and construct new projects.
• Performs minor electrical and plumbing repairs.
• Operates hand tools, standard machine shop equipment, fork truck and company truck.
• Delivers and picks up items for Maintenance Department.
• Maintains an accurate daily log of all repairs performed and other required information.
• Performs preventive and routine maintenance to maintain machine performance.
• Performs daily housekeeping tasks to provide a safe, clean and orderly workplace.
• Performs simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Complies with safety and health rules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
