Sapienza Consulting, a tpgroup company, is recruiting a Space Policy Analyst to join NATO – NCIA in Brussels, Belgium.

Responsibilities

  • Support the multinational scaling of space pioneer projects
  • Support the PoW of the Alliance Space Persistent Surveillance (APSS) Project
  • Identify opportunities to build coherence between APSS and existing NATO ISR programmes and initiatives, and drive integration into NATO
  • Conduct space-related analysis, including concerning industry developments
  • Develop and maintain capability surveys with a focus on NATO and Allied space ISR ambitions and space data exchange, and leverage data analysis tools for visualisation
  • Explore and launch further projects related to innovation in the ISR domain, liaise and collaborate with other programmes relevant in this field
  • Liaise between NATO HQ and NCIA on ISR related matters
  • Leverage NATO exercises, training, trial and experimentation opportunities to inject space ISR efforts
  • Support public diplomacy efforts, including NATO’s ISR Summit project (“Project X”) from NCIA perspective and develop publicfacing events, articles, briefings and web stories on ISR innovation activities
  • Support conferences and other educational initiatives that are of interest for the work to be performed
  • Ability to work unsupervised or part of a group; Be willing to travel on a frequent basis and work during weekends as required by the leadership

Profile

  • Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret
  • Hold a degree in the field of business administration, economics and international security
  • Have a minimum of 1 year work experience of working in an international environment at the strategic/policy level
  • Have experience in capability development and delivery at the policy/political level, including drafting of political and legal agreements
  • Be conversant with the Alliance’s political and military consultative processes and key security policy issues on its agenda
  • Have a good understanding of NATO Allied national and multinational space ambitions
  • Good understanding of NATO’s financing and funding mechanisms
  • Possess excellent analytical skills, excellent briefing (verbal and written) skills and have the ability to provide a high degree of impact and influence with political, civil and military stakeholders
  • Basic knowledge of Space capabilities and use in military environment
  • Good knowledge of information system (sharepoint).

The Consultant shall have the following skills:

  • Possess the following minimum levels of NATO’s official languages (English/French):
  • V (“advanced”) in English and I (“Beginner”) French
  • Ability to plan and execute assigned project tasks taking into account policies, programme goals, and priorities, funding and other planning constraints
  • Possess extensive space policy knowledge and experience
  • Degree in economics or business administration
  • Ability to work on its own and as part of a team
  • Strong listening and communication skills in English.

It is desirable that the Consultant has the following skills/experience:

  • Experience of working in an international environment, comprising both military and civilian staff
  • Committee support experience
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization
  • Motivated, good communication skills, team player
